No. 8 LWC Volleyball hosts Milligan College and U/NW Ohio Three matches will be played Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Biggers Sports Center By Charles Balcom COLUMBIA, KY -The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team faces Milligan (Elizabethton, TN) College and the University of Northwestern Ohio Saturday beginning at 11amCT at Biggers Sports Center. These will be just the fourth and fifth home matches of the season for the Blue Raiders and the first since September 14, 2013 Lindsey Wilson (20-0, 9-0) is a perfect 3-0 at home and has swept all three opponents. Lindsey Wilson enters today's matches coming off a 3-0 win over Asbury (Wilmore) University Thursday night. The victory gave head coach Andy Cavins his 100th career win. The Blue Raiders are led by Nadelina Nesheva with 196 kills followed by Taylor Hayne (177), Kailey Moorhead (175) and Sarah Anderson (166). Freshman Alexa Just leads the team with 645 assists. The defensive effort is led by Maeghan Angel with 256 digs. Moorhead leads the team with 72 blocks followed by Mattie Tigges with 63. Lindsey Wilson is third in the NAIA with a hitting percentage of .298 and eighth in blocks per game with 2.57. The first match of the day features Lindsey Wilson against Milligan College (7-15, 3-6 AAC). The Buffaloes enter today's matches coming off a 3-1 loss at the hands of Union College on Tuesday. Milligan's offensive attack is led by Kylie Whaley with 276 kills and Samantha Bruinius with 182 kills. Jessica Davenport has 719 assists on the season. Kaitlyn Round has 354 digs and Emilee Linkous leads with 54 blocks. The second match of the day is scheduled for 1pmCT and pits Milligan College against the University of Northwestern Ohio (13-2, 5-1). The Racers enter today's matches coming off a 3-1 loss to Davenport University on Wednesday. Northwestern Ohio has won 9 of their last 10 matches. The Racers are led by Chanel Cantere with 192 kills and Brittany Egbert with 186. Lauren Maxwell leads the team with 545 assists. The defensive effort is led by Ellie Comes with 232 digs and Calley Hawkins with 31 blocks. The Racers rank fourth in the NAIA in assists per game (12.9) and kills per game (14.0).
