Wants to know why youth basketball eliminated at Jim Blair 'Mr. Charlie Crawhorn has put his heart and soul into organizing this program for our community and those that do not support this, in my opinion, shouldn't be on a decision making committee, whatsoever.' - Amanda Firkins By Amanda Firkins Personal commentary I just cannot believe that the youth basketball program has been eliminated from the Jim Blair recreation center. I went there today to sign my daughter up for a basketball team that was affordable and would provide each child a fair chance at playing and was stunned to find out that no sooner than the director received the registration forms and money for the signups, after all he had put into this program, that he had to return the stack of over what looked to be 50 or more forms and give the money back to the parents. Not only has this upset more than a few of the parents in this community, but also, the many children that were excited about this program no longer have it to look forward to. I don't know why this program was cut, but I do know that Mr. Charlie Crawhorn has put his heart and soul into organizing this program for our community and those that do not support this, in my opinion, shouldn't be on a decision making committee, whatsoever. Also, I know that at least 50 or more parents, including myself, in our community would like to know why this program was cut and what the future holds for our children with people like this making decisions that do not favor youth programs? --Amanda Firkins This story was posted on 2013-10-03 16:36:55
