Chad Compton, 39, Adair County, KY (1974-2013)

He was a highly respected citizen of Adair County, KY. His wife, Bridget Powell Compton, survives. He leaves two direct living descendants. He was a member of Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church, was guitarist with the band "In the Middle of Nowhere", was employed with Twin State Utilities in Tompkinsville and was a member of the Adair Co. Marching Band for five years.

Chad Compton, 39, of Columbia, KY, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 1:35 A.M. at the Russell County Hospital Emergency Room, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Chapel Cemetery, next to Beulah Chapel Church, 4262 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT/5pmET, Friday, October 4, 2013, at the funeral home.



Casket Bearers: Robby Gist, Daniel Dixon, Chris Coomer, Jason Sneed, Jeremy Sneed, Matthew Wilson, Stephen Compton, and Bryan Baker.

Honorary: Nick Kemp, Russell Milby, Lee Kendrick, Jason VanArsdale, R.C. Ryan and Twin State Utilities family.

He was born Thursday, June 20, 1974, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. He died Wednesday, October 2, 2013, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 39 years, 3 months, and 12 days.

He was a member of Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church, was guitarist with the band "In the Middle of Nowhere", was employed with Twin State Utilities in Tompkinsville and was a member of the Adair Co. Marching Band for five years.

He was preceded in death by his father, James "Jimmy" Compton, his paternal grandparents, Edgar & Fannie Keltner Compton and his maternal grandfather, Lemon Sneed.

Survivors include the following:
  • His wife: Bridget Powell Compton of Columbia, KY

  • Two sons: Jaggar Rane & Dagan Cash Compton both of Columbia, KY

  • His mother & step-father: Frances Sneed Compton Estes & Garry Estes of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Dana (Allen) Helm of Columbia, KY

  • His maternal grandmother: Zada Burris Sneed of Columbia, KY

  • His father-in-law & mother-in-law: Jerry & Bonnie Moss Powell of Columbia, KY

  • Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Shane & Holly Powell

  • Step-brother and step-sister:Richie (Michelle) Estes & Stacey Estes & special friend, Phil Monroe all of Columbia, KY

  • Three nieces

  • Several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of relatives and friends
