Blue Raiders look to remain undefeated on the season

COLUMBIA, KY - The nationally 8th-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team faces Mid-South Conference rival Campbellsville University at 6pmCT Tuesday night at the J.K. Powell Athletic Center, 203 Tiger Way, Campbellsville. KY.

Lindsey Wilson (18-0, 8-0) looks to continue their unbeaten streak and build upon the best start in program history. The Blue Raiders have swept their last four opponents and won 54 sets on the season compared to losing just seven.



Lindsey Wilson currently ranks third in the NAIA in hitting percentage (.294) and eighth in blocks per game (2.57).

The Blue Raider offense features a fierce line of attackers. Kailey Moorhead leads the team with 164 kills followed by Nadelina Nesheva (163), Taylor Hayne (160) and Sarah Anderson (146). Freshman Alexa Just has 571 assists on the season. Moorhead also leads in blocks with 66 followed by Mattie Tigges with 59. Junior Maeghan Angel leads with 226 digs on the season.

Campbellsville (13-2, 7-1) enters the match with a four-game win streak. The Tigers swept all four opponents over that span. The lone conference loss of the season came against Georgetown (Georgetown, KY) College on September 12, 2013.

The Tigers are led by Rinata Aisena with 179 kills. Giselle Hernandez and Daiane Souza add 160 and 105 kills, respectively. Jackie Schwieger leads the team in assists with 356. Caitlin Dresing leads the team in digs with 176 while Aisena leads with 45 blocks.

Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville faced each other twice in 2012. The Blue raiders took the first meeting in Campbellsville 3-2 on September 5, 2013. The Tigers swept the Blue Raiders in Columbia in the second meeting on October 9, 2013. The match is set for 6pmCT/ 7pmET Tuesday, Octoober 1, 2013 at the J.K. Powell Athletic Center, 203 Tiger Way (Underwood Street), Campbellsville, KY.
