Columbia PD arrest man in home intrusion, burglary case

Columbia Police Department have made an arrest of a Russell County Man on Burglary charges stemming from a home intrusion on Tutt Street.



On Tuesday, September 24, 2013 Columbia Police Officer's and Deputy Sheriff's responded to an Adair County 911 Dispatch at 612 Tutt Street. The caller, an 87 year old female, advised dispatchers she was in bed and heard someone in her house. Upon arrival officers found that there was signs of forced entry into the house but the perpetrator had done fled the scene with a undisclosed amount of cash took from a purse inside the home.

On Friday through investigation CPD Ofc. Josh Brockman was able to obtain a Warrant of Arrest for Kristopher Pickett, age 22, of Russell Springs, KY, for Burglary 2nd Degree, Theft By Unlawful Taking, and Criminal Mischief.

The warrant was executed Sunday, September 29, 2013 and Pickett was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail, Columbia, KY. The investigation is ongoing with more charges pending. -Ofc. Josh Brockman, Columbia Police Department, 116 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KYJason Cross, Chief,
