Mr. Clifford Ray Sherrell, age 56, of Celina, Tennessee passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the Cookeville Regional Hospital in Cookeville, TN.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 4:30pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. John Mustang officiating. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery in Clay County, Tennessee. The family will receive friends after 1:30pmCT, on Sunday, September 29, 2013 until the funeral hour on Monday.


Mr. Clifford Ray Sherrill, Celina, TN (1957-2013)


He was born in Indianapolis, Marion County, IN, on Thursday, January 3, 1957, the son of Eddy Ray and Betty Sue Key Sherrell. He died Sunday, September 22, 2013, in Cookeville, Putnam County, TN, at the age of 56 years, 8 months, and 19 days.

He was a member of the North Side Church of Christ in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and he attended the Rock Springs Church of Christ in the Pea Ridge Community of Clay County, Tennessee. He was a member of the United States Army Reserves in Clark County, Indiana, and was a Foster Care Giver having been employed by Child Place Children’s Home.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his Paternal grandparents, Cordell and Lucy Sherrell; his maternal grandparents, Cordell and Rosie Key; his uncle Reid Key; his aunt, Annie Sherrell; and his cousin David Sherrell. He is survived by his mother Betty Sue Key Sherrell, his siblings, Kathy (and Jimmy) Short, and Anthony (and Rebecca) Sherrell; his nieces, Hannah McMinn, Rebecca Golden, Maralyn Short, and Maryna Sherrell; and his nephew, James Short, all of Celina, Tennessee. In Lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the Rock Springs Cemetery Fund and the Willams Cemetery Fund.
