By Holly Kerns, Professor Jeff Scott
  • Holly Kerns, Sano, KY - Pumpkins. Corn. Green Beans. Squash. Sweet Potatoes. Zucchini. Turnips. Mixed Greens.

  • Prof. Jeff Scott, Scott's Orchard, Antioch, KY - Winesaps, Jonagolds (a cross between a Yellow Delicious and Jonathan), Goldrush and Galas. Professor Scott says it's a nice, crisp day for which is suitably attired. It's cold enough for a coat, though he is still in short britches. It's great apple weather, he says. "It puts red on the cheek of a schoolboy waiting for the bus and it puts a red blush on apples and makes them crisper."
