RE: Your query regarding the position of the birds head.

After enlarging the photo and examining it closely I can definitively avow that the answer, to whether we are seeing the side of the birds head or is he looking at us, is an unqualified YES.

That should be a response that would please "the Tractor Man" and the "Old Forest Ranger".
