Soccer: LWC Women remain No. 1 in NAIA Coaches Top 25 Poll Blue Raiders received 15 of 21 first-place votes By Charles Balcom KANSAS CITY, MO - The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team retains its No. 1 ranking in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, officials announced on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. The Blue Raiders (7-1) received 586 total voting points and 15 of 21 first-place votes. This marks the NAIA best 46th time Lindsey Wilson has been ranked No. 1 dating back to 1999. It is the fifth-straight poll the Blue Raiders have been ranked No. 1. Following the Blue Raiders in the poll are Vanguard (CA) and Embry-Riddle (FL) tied at No. 2 with 564 voting points, Concordia (OR) at No. 4 with 536 points and Northwood (FL) at No. 5 with 512 points. The only change in the top five from last weeks poll is Embry-Riddle moving up from No. 3 to a tie for second with Vanguard. Embry-Riddle received the other six first place votes in the poll. Lindsey Wilson opened Mid-South Conference play this past week and picked up a 5-1 win over Campbellsville (KY) University and a 6-0 win over the University of Rio Grande (Ohio). Cumberland (TN) University is the only other Mid-South team in the poll at No. 15 with 320 voting points. The next poll is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
