Singing for Scholarships at Plaza Theatre, Nov. 2, 2013 By Betty Driver The Bobby Driver Memorial Scholarship Fund presents its 6th Singing for Scholarships at the Plaza Theater, 115 E Main Street, Glasgow, KY, on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 7pmCT. This year we will be paying tribute to American Bandstand Style Music. This year's show will recreate the sounds of the day's most popular and the longest running variety show that helped promote the careers of many rock-n-roll artists. Residents of South Central Kentucky will have a chance to see locally-known talents performing the music of great artists who appeared on the show. Various local talent will be performing hits from different Bandstand artists. The house band will be The Unpredictables. Local artists include Josh Johnson, Bailey Birge, Shaylin McGuire, Haley Biggers, The BCHS Drama Team, Megan Swindle, and the trio of Ella Hagan, Emma Pack, and Makena McMurtrey. Also Ms. Adrienne's Dance Team will be performing to these songs. New this year, The Bobby Driver Scholarship Fund is offering a $500 cash incentive to the school that brings in the highest percent of tickets. The schools that are eligible this year are Glasgow High School, Glasgow Middle School, Barren County High School, and Barren County Middle School. Save your ticket stub the night of the performance and submit to your favorite school's basket. Tickets are available now at the Plaza Theatre. Call 270-361-2101 or www.plaza.org.
