(Ad) Prof. Scott is at Adair Farmers Market with something new

Prof. Jeff Scott of Antioch is here with the best apples of the year. Adair Farmers Market, Adair Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY at the Tuesday morning, September 24 2013 session from 6amCT-10amCT. There will be a second session today, from 3pmCT-6pmCT

Prof. Jeff Scott is here with one of a really nice load of apples, some nice Goldrush Apples. Hurry over. He's hoping for an early sell-out - he's got plans to make some cider this afternoon. Here is the selection today:
  • Winesaps - With a red coat bright as a Red Delicious, but packing intense, a little tart, a little sweet, just right flavor. Crunchy and so juicy better lean over when eating one or you'll have apple juice all over you. They are good.
  • Melrose - A great all around apple
  • Gala - Some people's everything Apple. First famous as an eating apple, Great Adair County Cook's have found that in the shortest time they go from whole to a hot dessert with these fast cooking treats.
  • Goldrush - The Sensation of the Adair Farmer's Market this morning. They are a kind of Yellow-Deliciousy kind of apple - only more so. A delicate nuance which makes a world of difference to Triple A buyers - AA of A - Apple Aficionados of Adair. We think you'll like them.
Any others - we sometimes have late arrivals - will be listed when they call.: The Adair County Farmers Market proudly accepts Senior and WIC vouchers. For more information, contact the Adair County Extension Service at 270-384-2317. - Nick Roy, Adair County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources
