Marijuana plants and stolen whiskey barrel recovered

Whiskey barrel allegedly stolen from Jim Beam. During investigation of disturbance, KSP also finds marijuana plants in residence in plain view; Greater Hardin Narcotics Force called in; seven plants also recovered.

News from Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY - On Monday, September 16, 2013 at approximately 12:05amET, Kentucky State Police Post 04 received a disturbance call in regard to several juveniles attempting to break into a vehicle on Airview Dr. When Troopers arrived they were told by witnesses that several juveniles ran into the residence at 266 Airview Dr.

They were also informed of a whiskey barrel that was in the back of the residence that appeared to be stolen. After attempting to make contact at the residence with no answer they also noticed a marijuana plant in plain view inside the house. At this time the Greater Hardin Co. Narcotics Task Force was called and a search warrant was prepared and executed. In total, seven marijuana plants and a whiskey barrel stolen from Jim Beam Brands Co. was recovered. The juveniles involved were later released to their parents. Trp. Charlie Miller is handling the continuing investigation. - Tpr. Jeff Gregory
