(Ad) Adair Farmers Market, Tues, Sept. 17, 2013 6am-10amCT

Holly Kerns is here, with a great load of fall produce, including pumpkins. Prof. Jeff Scott of Antioch says he's got some of the best apples of the year. Adair Farmers Market, Adair Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY at the Tuesday morning, September 10, 2013 session from 6amCT-10amCT.

By Holly Kerns and Prof. Jeff Scott
  • Holly Kerns, Sano, KY - Pumpkins, Decorative and Eating. Corn. Green Beans. Yellow Crookneck Squash. Zucchini. Potatoes. Turnips. Mixec Greens.
  • Professor Jeff Scott, Antioch, KY - Mutsu's are plentiful today. They're a firm apple with great eating and cooking qualities. They've got a taste between a yellow delicious and a Granny Smith. I've also got those wonderful Melrose apples. And Winesaps, an old favorite for eating and cooking in these parts. And, if you ask, I'll tell you about Henrietta's trip to the Athens County Farmers Market in Athens, Ohio, where the selection is wonderful - the crowds are huge, but they're only open for 2 hours! - JEFF SCOTT.
Any others - we sometimes have late arrivals - will be listed when they call.

The Adair County Farmers Market proudly accepts Senior and WIC vouchers. For more information, contact the Adair County Extension Service at 270-384-2317. - Nick Roy, Adair County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources
