Adair Boys, Taylor Girls No. 1 in in 6-team Heartland meet Austin Cundiff, Riley Grant 1-2 as individauls. Adair's Austin Cundiff, Tanner Garmon, Riley Grant, and Blake Maupin make all Heartland Conference team. ACHS Girls unable to qualify as team because of injury. Click on headline for complete story w/photos By Nancy Taylor The Adair Boys team and the Taylor Girls team each earned first place in the Adair County High School Golf Teams hosted the Annual Heartland Conference Tournament at The Pines of Lindsey Wilson on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Six (6) Teams - Adair, Green, Campbellsville Independent, Taylor, Marion, and Washington Counties - made an appearance during the tournament. The Adair County Boys' Team won with a total score of 308, with Taylor County earning 2nd place with a team score of 335. The Taylor County Girls' Team won the ladies division with a score of 314, with Green County Girls taking home the 2nd place trophy by team score of 391. The Adair County Girls, unfortunately, were unable to qualify as a team due to an elbow injury of 8th Grader, Lauren McQuaide, who was not able to participate during the tournament. Ellen Kehoe of Taylor County, who posted a 70 for the day, earned the 1st Place Individual award. Austin Cundiff and Riley Grant, both of Adair County, tied for the day with a 74. After a three (3) hole playoff, Austin Cundiff came out ahead by 1 stroke to take home 1st Place and Riley earning 2nd Place in the boys division. Additionally, four (4) members of the Adair County Boys Team earned a spot on the Heartland All-Conference Team; those being Austin Cundiff, Tanner Garmon, Riley Grant, and Blake Maupin. - Nancy Taylor This story was posted on 2013-09-13 16:12:43
