Clarification: The Herbicide is Crossbow, a Dow Chemical product

I had been told by CJE Ann Melton that the Herbicide the County would be using was Round-up, a Monsanto product. Last night at the September 10, 2013, Fiscal Court meeting, she clarified the information, saying that the Herbicide the County intends to spray is Crossbow, a Dow Chemical product.

A cursory reading of the information on Crossbow is not as scary a choice as Roundup. It fully appears that, this Fiscal Court and CJE will go ahead with the plan to spray county roadways with herbicides.

Many think it sends a really bad message on the environment and hope for, but do not expect, a better outcome from this court.

Comments are welcome. We especially appreciate those who wrote to voice opinions (when the information was that the spray would be Roundup), yesterday, and fully support those stands on the situation. - ED WAGGENER
