Lester R. Acree, 83, Russell County, KY (1930-2013)

He served in the U.S. Marines as a Sgt. in the Korean War. He served in the U.S. Marines as a Sgt. in the Korean War. He was born in Jamestown, KY, and was a resident of Jamestown at the time of his death. He was was son of the late Bert Acree and the late Floy Hardwick Burton. He was the patriarch of a large, widespread family. His wife Albert Acree, survives. He leaves 17 direct living descendants spanning 3 generations.

Lester R. Acree, Acree Road, Jamestown, KY, died at his home at 6:50pmCT, Saturday, September 7, 2013.

The memorial service will be at 11:30amCT, Thursday, September 12, 2013, at the H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Thursday, at the funeral home.

He was born March 6, 1930, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Bert Acree and the late Floy Hardwich Acree. He died Saturday, September 7, 2013, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 83 years, 6 months, and 1 day.

He was a forklift operator at Kroger.

He served in the U.S. Marines as a Sgt. in the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Alberta Acree, Jamestown, KY, and the following:
  • Son: Terry, husband of Ana Acree, of Indiana

  • Daughters: Sandy, wife of Donald Catheart, of Indiana; and Nancy, wife of Doug Woodcock, of Indiana

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Six great grandchildren
The H.E. Pruitt Funeral Home, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, in charge of arrangements.
