Caroline Anne Hammontree, Metcalfe Co., KY (d. Sept. 5, 2013)

She was a native of Frackville, PA and a resident of Edmonton, KY, at the time of her death. She was the Postmaster at Breeding, KY, and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Frackville, PA. She was the widow of Richard W. Hammontree, Sr. She leaves 12 direct living descendants.

Caroline Anne Hammontree age 73 of Edmonton, KY, died Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Glasgow Health and Rehab in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, 48 S Nice Street, Frackville, PA, with burial in the Sky-View Memorial Park at Tamaqua, PA. Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, 2013, 4pm-8pmCT, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, Ky with a memorial service beginning at 7:30pmCT. Out of town services will be conducted by Nice-Hart Funeral Home in Frackton, PA.


She was born in Frackville, Schuylkill County, PA, the daughter of the late Harry and Caroline Alton Lewis.

She was the Postmaster at Breeding, KY, and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Frackville, Pennsylvania.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three children: Rick Hammontree of Edmonton, KY; Caroline Bates of Alabama; and Jill Wright of Bowling Green, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • And three great grandchildren
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard W. Hammontree Sr.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY in charge of local funeral arrangements.
