Click on headline for complete story By Chris Wells HATTIESBURG, MS - Jamie Stanton's second half goal lifted the No 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team to a 2-1 win tonight over No. 14 William Carey (MS) at Crusader Field. The Blue Raiders improve to 3-0 on the season with the win-- all coming against nationally ranked teams. William Carey falls to 2-3 on the season with the home loss. Stanton's goal - off an Ayaki Shinada's assist in the 67th minute - broke the 1-1 tie and extended the Lindsey Wilson winning streak to eight straight games dating back to last season. The goal is Stanton's second of the season. William Carey managed just two shots -- one on target -- in the final 23 minutes, but could not find the equalizer against Lindsey Wilson keeper Johanna Henrikson. Henrikson collected two saves in the win. Natasha Gensetter opened the game's scoring in the 40th minute off Stanton's first assist of the season to give Lindsey Wilson the 1-0 lead. The lead was short-lived as William Carey's Claudia Saucedo found the back of the net in the 43rd minute to tie the game at 1-1. The match remained tied until the Stanton goal despite the Blue Raiders controlling the offensive play. Lindsey Wilson concluded the match with a 17-6 shots advantage. William Carey's Linfah Jones suffered the loss allowing both Lindsey Wilson goals while ending the evening with six saves.
