Columbia Police arrest suspect in Burkesville armed robbery Robber armed with handgun had obtained $1,200 in cash last Sunday, August 25, 2013, at Jimmy's Food Mart in Burkesville, KY. Vehicle used in robbery recovered in parking lot off Russell Road, Columbia, KY, within hours that day. After identification of suspect by Officer Lawrence Nettles in Burkesville, a warrant was obtained for the arrest of the suspect, 30 year old Jason Norris. The warrant was served Saturday, August 30, in the 200 block of Oak Street by Columbia Police Officers Josh Brockman and Charles Greer. Suspect lodged in Adair County Regioal Jail, Columbia, KY By Ofc. Josh Brockman Columbia, KY, Police Department Columbia Police Department locates Cumberland County man wanted for armed robbery in Burkesville KY. On August 25, 2013 in Burkesville KY a white male walked into Jimmy's Food Mart and pointed a handgun at cashier and demanded cash. The male fled with approximately $1,200 cash in a 1995 2 door Chevrolet Cavalier. Within a couple of hours the vehicle was located abandoned in a parking lot just off Russell Road in the limits of Columbia by Ofc. Josh Brockman and Ofc. Charles Greer. Officer Lawrence Nettles of Burkesville Police Department was able to Identify the white male as 30 year Jason Norris of Cumberland County and obtained a Warrant of Arrest through Cumberland District Court. On Saturday, August 30, 2013, Columbia Police Department located Norris around the 200 block of Oak Street in the limits of Columbia where he was arrested without incident by CPD Sgt. Jr. Murphy. Norris was also served with a warrant from KY Probation and Parole for parole violations. Norris was lodged in Adair County Regional Jail. Assisting agency Adair County Sheriff's Department.
