Columbia Police arrest 18 year old on weapons charge

Hardin County man arrested on Shady lane in the limits of Columbia after CPD officer observes suspicious activity around commercial storage units

On Monday, August 26, 2013, at approximately 11:34pmCT, Columbia Police Department arrested 18 year old Ladarine Archie of Elizabethtown, KY . Archie was observed by Det. Tracy McCarol leaving storage units in a Green 2000 Jeep Cherokee at high rate of speed with no headlights. Upon contact it was found that Archie was in possession of a concealed handgun. Upon further investigation it was found that he did not possess a valid license to possess a concealed deadly weapon and that the gun was entered as stolen by Elizabethtown Police Department. Archie was lodged in Adair County Regional Jail by Det. McCarol and Sgt. Gary Roy. The investigation will be continued with additional pending charges. - Ofc. Josh Brockman
