Peg Schaeffer sends Wish List for Sugarfoot Farm Rescue

Peg Schaeffer, the founder of Sugarfoot Farm Rescue, has won the hearts of dog lovers - and CM Readers - over a wide area. She is a regular contributor on Sunday with CM. Her column, Happy Tails, is one of the most eagerly awaited of all. A new one will be posted tomorrow. Those who value, as we do, the contribution she makes may want to help with the expense of her mission. This "Wish List" outlines some of the things she needs most now. -EW

By Peg Schaeffer

Many people have told me they want to support the mission of Sugarfoot Farm Rescue, and ColumbiaMagazine.com has offered to post a "Wish List" for us. Running the rescue is expensive. Right now, the need is great, and any help will be appreciated and acknowledged. Here is what we need most, now:
  1. Money - to defray the cost of dog food, veterinarian expenses, and supplies
  2. Blankets - receiving blankets and car blankets are the best - please nothing stuffed
  3. Towels and Bath Mats - great for their crates
  4. Flea treatments - Frontline, Comfortis, Revolution, Adams Flea Spray, etc.
  5. Apple Cider Vinegar and Diatameceous Earth - natural treatments for fleas
  6. Collars and leashes
  7. Toys - again nothing stuffed - they enjoy Kongs, balls, tug of war ropes
  8. Treats - they love pig ears and cow hooves
  9. Crates
  10. Kuranda beds
  11. Cleaning agents - bleach, disinfectants
  12. Canned and dry dog food - we give canned dog food to the senior dogs and dogs requiring medication
  13. Pill pockets
  14. HELP - people to groom and bathe dogs, teach them to walk on a leash, socialization with people other than us - some of the dogs are afraid of strangers
