News from the Adair County Middle School Cheerleaders PRIDE leadership

The Adair County Middle School had their PRIDE Kick-off this week and it was a huge success! Team PRIDE presided over the activities under the direction of Mrs. Donna Young. Team PRIDE is a group of students who play a leadership role in helping implement the PRIDE program.

The PRIDE Team members are Jadie Smith, Meredith Compton, Maggie Young, Maddie Harmon, Blane Frazier, Landon Carter, Samantha Harris, Mario Valadez, Hunter Cundiff, Sam Baker, Kyla Kessler, Lauren McQuaide, Jax Kemp, and Dylan Hale. The PRIDE Team strives to be positive examples of the PRIDE Matrix for fellow students and the community at large. All PRIDE Team members must complete two service projects during the year one for the district/building and one in community.

By now I am sure you are scratching your head and think what is PRIDE? Let me explain
- P is for Positive Attitude (I can, I will find the good.)
- R is for Respect (I can, I will value the worth of myself, others, and my surroundings.)
- I is for Integrity (I can, I will do what is right and honest.),
- D is for Determination (I can, I will work hard to succeed.), and
- E is for Excellence (I can, I will reach for higher goals).
The PRIDE Matrix is the core expectations of the all students and staff at ACMS this year. There are posters in all hallways, restrooms, classrooms, break area, and cafeteria. When students show PRIDE they will be rewarded appropriately at the end of each 9 weeks and then at the end of the year there will be rewards such as gift cards, iPads, and iPods.

Mrs. Rich, Principal at ACMS, and Mrs. Young, Assistant Principal, are both excited about PRIDE and will keep us all posted throughout the school year. I know I for one look forward to seeing what creative and innovative service projects the PRIDE Team complete this year.
