Supt. Reed says 1st Day going smoothly First day of School for Adair County School District students, August 14, 2013 Click on headline for article with photo(s) The official first ringing of the Adair County Primary Center bell was at 7amCT, this morning, Superintendent Alan W. Reed announced, with Prinicipal Patty Jones doing the honors. The bell, for so many years rung daily at Columbia High School, was brought out of storage to become the art centerpiece in the lobby of the new school. Mr. Reed also commented that the flow of traffic to and out of the campus has been incredibly smooth. "It far exceed all out expectations," he said. So far, he said, everything is in harmony, running like clockwork, with the schools, parents and community in synch to make it a opening day like no other. It's been a busy morning for Mr. Reed. Earlier this morning, he was a guest with Larry Smith at the WAVE, 92.7 FM radio to announce the historic ringing of the bell, and the opening day activities, and will be in motion today visiting all parts of the campus.
