Move in Weekend at ACPC for Lift off to Learning, Aug, 14, 2013 Countdown: Just 2 more days until the start of school. This past weekend, Saturday-Sunday, the logistics planned out for military precision, the teacher takeover of the new school began in earnest. Thanks to the all the staff, especially maintenance, and especially the volunteers from the Columbia Christian Church, who came out in the rain, everything is on schedule for the start of school at 7:45amCT, Wednesday, August 14, 2013 - about 25 hours from this posting! Click on headline for complete article with photo(s) By Patty Jones, Principal, Adair County Primary Center Home of the Rockets: ACPC, 158 Col. Casey Drive, Columbia, KY 1 BR> The teachers and staff moved into the new Adair County Primary Center this weekend, Saturday-Sunday, August 10-11, 2013, and continuing. This place is nothing short of amazing and we are all already in love with the it. It may be covered in cardboard and surplus items right now, but it is one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen. The last picture in the accompanying collection is the view from the window of my office, into the lobby . I cannot begin to say "thank you" enough to all of the teachers, staff, family and friends who helped this weekend (and continue to help). However, a special thanks goes to the members of the Columbia Christian Church who came out early in the rain on Saturday to assist in moving items and removing the debris. They were truly a blessing to all of us and such a joy to be around. Another huge debt of gratitude goes to the men and women of the Adair County Schools Maintenance team who moved boxes, furniture, materials, equipment, computers and much more for the past two weeks. They are undoubtedly some of the most dedicated and hardest working individuals I have ever seen. We are all grateful, tired, overwhelmed, but above all, happy. We cannot wait to share this wonderful new facility with our students. While we have worked hard to make the body of our school look its best in a very, very short time, it will be the students on Wednesday who give it the heart and soul. Go Rockets!!!
