Celebrating Glydus Bailey's 100th Birthday - Aug. 12, 2013 Part of celebration at Bear Wallow UMC is motorcycle ride on last day as 99 year old Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Jennifer Hardin, Granddaughter of Glydus Bailey Glydus (A.k.a. "Mamaw") Bailey's 100th birthday celebration was honored Sunday afternoon at Bear Wallow United Methodist Fellowship Hall. "Mamaw" turns 100 years old, Monday, August 12, 2013!! We celebrated in her honor with a gathering for family and friends and approximately 108 family members and friends were in attendance to help Mamaw celebrate her 100th birthday. Her grandson, Eddie Reagan, rode his motorcycle from Knoxville, TN for the celebration and took Mamaw on another ride after her party on her 'last afternoon as a 99-year-old'! I have attached a picture of Mamaw on the motorcycle with her grandson, a picture of her by herself, and also a picture of the four generations of family members who were present at Mamaw's gathering Sunday afternoon at picture-taking time. (There were other grandchildren who were there for a while, but they were not present at the time the pictures were taken; unfortunately, and we had a few who were unable to attend the birthday celebration and are not accounted for in the picture as well.) The picture shows Glydus "Mamaw" Bailey, her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren who were present at picture-taking time. Thank you so much in advance for sharing these pictures on Columbia Magazine as we honor this wonderful woman who has touched and blessed the lives of so many people in her 100 years!! - Jennifer Hardin, Granddaughter of Glydus Bailey This story was posted on 2013-08-12 03:36:16
