Adair Co. man arrested after striking woman's car repeatedly

Columbia Police Department arrest Adair County man on assault 1st degree charges stemming from Domestic Violence call

Columbia Police Officers were dispatched Sunday, August 4, 2013 at approximately 4:47pmCT, to the 400 block of Burkesville Street to a report of a white male using his vehicle to strike another vehicle operated by a white female multiple times.



Upon arrival it was found that 24 year old Derik Brown of Columbia, KY, was operating a 1996 Dodge Stratus south on Burkesville street and crossed the centerline intentionally striking 23 year old Meagan Swartz, who was operating a 1999 Honda Accord north on Burkesville street in the driver's side of vehicle.

Both vehicles then pulled into a nearby parking lot where Brown proceeded to strike Swartz vehicle again in drivers side.

Swartz was treated on scene by Adair County EMS and transported to Westlake Regional Hospital for additional treatment.

Brown was arrested by Ofc. Josh Brockman and lodged in Adair County Regional Jail on charges of Assault 1st degree Domestic Violence , No Insurance , and Expired Registration Plates.

Ofc. Brockman was assisted by Ofc. Drew Conn and Deputy Aaron Rainwater. - Ofc. Josh Brockman
