Bro. Larry H. Miller, Burkesville, KY (1950-2013)

His wife, Virginia Shaw Miller, survives. He leaves two direct and one step living descendants. He was a member of the Highland Chapel United Methodist Church, the pastor of Providence and Dutch Creek United Methodist Churches, an active member of the Dale Hollow Emmaus Community, having participated in several Emmaus Walks, a member of the Circle of Brothers Reunion Group, an employee of Sumitomo Corporation of Edmonton, Kentucky, a gospel singer for many years, a member and past master of Cumberland Masonic Lodge # 413 F. and A.M., a member and past patron of the Burkesville Chapter # 380 Order of the Eastern Star.

Bro. Larry H. Miller, age 63, of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green, Kentucky. Funeral services for Bro. Larry H. Miller will be held on Monday July 29, 2013 at 11amCT/12pmET, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with burial in the Casey Fork Cemetery, near Marrowbone, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Sunday July 28, 2013, after 4pmCT/5pmET, until the funeral hour on Monday. Last Masonic Rites Service will be conducted by Cumberland Lodge # 413 F. and A.M. on Sunday Evening, July 28, 2013 at 7pmCT/8pmET at Norris-New Funeral Home. The Lodge will open at 6pmCT/7pmET.



Pallbearers will be Darrell Spears, Lenville Piercy, Johnny Carter, Roger McKinney, Sam Appleby, Jimmy Wray, Ronnie Mullins, John Phelps, Jr. and Marjoe Wray.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Cole, Ronnie Mattingly, Phillip Garmon, Tyler Riley, Michael Chambers, the Circle of Brother Reunion Group, Dr. Robert Flowers and Dr. Samuel Rice.

He was born in Hardinsburg, Breckinridge County, KY on Monday, March 13, 1950, the son of James and Donnie Lee Williams Miller. He died Friday, July 26, 2013, in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 63 years, 4 months, and 13 days.

He was a member of the Highland Chapel United Methodist Church, the pastor of Providence and Dutch Creek United Methodist Churches, an active member of the Dale Hollow Emmaus Community, having participated in several Emmaus Walks, a member of the Circle of Brothers Reunion Group, an employee of Sumitomo Corporation of Edmonton, Kentucky, a gospel singer for many years, a member and past master of Cumberland Masonic Lodge # 413 F. and A.M., a member and past patron of the Burkesville Chapter # 380 Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include the following:
  • His wife: Virginia Shaw Miller, whom he wed on Saturday, February 23, 1980, of Burkesville, KY

  • His daughter: Jenny Leann Miller-Puckett and Travis D. Puckett of Bowling Green, KY

  • His siblings: Frankie and Wanda Williams of Charlestown, IN; James Michael and Kathy Miller of Louisville, KY; Ritchie Miller of Bardstown, KY, Rosie and Mike Lee of Michigan, Terry and Jackie Miller of Bardstown, KY; Darlene Ryan of Ohio

  • One grandson: Elijah Dean Puckett

  • And one step-daughter: Kelsie Puckett
