Jamestown voters decide alcoholic beverages with meals today

Voting takes place 6am-6pmCT, at Jamestown Elementary, 342 S Main Street, Jamestown, Russell County, KY

Today, Tuesday, July 23, 2013, is a special Election Day for Jamestown residents in Russell County, KY. The polls will be open from 6am to 6 pm Central Time.....Voters will vote on alcohol in conjunction with a meal in restaurants which seat 100 people and derive 80 percent of their revenue from food.



A group known as Progress Jamestown started a petition to get the alcohol on the special ballot for today's election.

The vote will be for the City of Jamestown and voters will vote at Jamestown Elementary School, 342 S Main Street, Jamestown, KY. 92.7 The Wave will be at the Jamestown precinct with the count beginning at 6pmCT. In a related story 92.7 The Wave has learned that a petition is now being circulated across Russell County to put the alcohol issue to a county wide vote and another special election could be coming in the future for the consideration of alcohol sales county wide....
