Says Columbia could match beauty of Campbellsville, Greensburg

Flowers in Greensburg breathtaking; flowers, alley work in Campbellsville are making downtown much more appealing

By Beverly A England

I agree with my fellow citizens Cricket, Shelia, and George with a little effort we can make Columbia just as beautiful as Campbellsville and Greensburg. Lets tear down the houses that are falling down and fix the houses and buildings that can be saved for other generations to enjoy!

I have just been to Greensburg and Campbellsville this week and I am amazed how the two towns have made their squares eye catching!

The flowers on the square in Greensburg hanging from their light poles are breath taking. In Campbellsville the flowers and the work that is being done on the alley spaces are making their square eye appealing as well! All of the buildings in both towns are being maintained and taken care of by the owners.

We have one of the most historic courthouses and it is known all over the state of Kentucky and in other states as well. Whenever I travel and I return to Columbia I know that I am home when I see our courthouse. As my Great Uncle would say when he came to Columbia, "I know that I am in my home town when I see the beautiful courthouse."

Let's take pride in what we have here in our community and we can make our town as beautiful as Greensburg and Campbellsville. --Beverly A England Comments re article 60744 Says a few neglected properties are difference in attractiveness
