Greg Thomas: Announcement soon on Adair Horse show date

Horse Show July 6 had been cancelled because of weather. Watch CM for new date, expected soon

By Ed Waggener

First of all. The Good News: Fair attendance for Saturday night, July 13, 2013, 3,943 paid admissions, was up over the corresponding Saturday of 2012, when only 3,919 paid admissions were sold.

Second of all. More Good News: An announcement is expected shortly on the Horse Show. Greg Thomas, Chairman of the Fair Board, said today that details on Kentucky Department of Agriculture participation have been worked out, and that as soon as details are negotiated with the insurance carrier, a new date will be set and the and sent to the media.

Thirdly. Still More Good News: The 2013 Fair was such a big success that planning on next year's Adair County Fair and Horse Show is already underway. "It takes a lot of dedicated people to stage a county fair, and we have one of the best teams in Kentucky. Everybody was so pumped after the hugely successful finale they wanted to get started immediately next year," Thomas said.
