Melissa Kay Melson, 50, of the Cundiff community, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 6:55pmCT, at the Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room, Columbia, KY.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 11amCT/12pmET, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Michael Helm officiating. Burial will be in the Shearer Cemetery, Cundiff, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT/6pmET, Tuesday, July 16, 2013.

She was born Wednesday, May 22, 1963, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late John & Rema Hadley Dabney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jonathan Melson, and one brother, John Dabney.

She was employed by Fruit of the Loom.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband: Alan Cape of Cundiff, KY

  • One son: Matthew Melson of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Dustin Dabney of Cundiff, KY

  • Two sisters: Tamila Blake of Vine Grove and Gena Grider of Columbia, KY

  • Several other relatives and friends
