Questions policy of not growing tobacco at ACHS

Thanks, Mr. Murrell for your comment below: Appreciate your thought and manner of presentation. However, as I understand it, the decision not to grow tobacco was made by the ACHS Agriculture Department, not the Superintendent or School Board. Either way, on balance, the decision does send a very positive health message, and the ACHS Agriculture Department should be commended for that. Daddy always said tobacco was to grow and sell, not to use. - Ed Waggener

James Murrell writes:
I guess Mr. Reed has forgotten that Tobacco put food on the table for a lot of Adair countians as well as supported most all other business. While I can understand the stance on no Tobacco use on school property, I question the policy of not growing it.(it is not illegal yet). Adair county has finally caught up to the rest of the world in the sense of, no matter what you think or the majority think, there are those who know whats best for us, all because we evidently do not. - James Murrell
