Trends just seem to lag a bit before getting here Story from Greensburg illustrates the case for the entire region South Central Kentucky has always taken comfort in not having to hit the future head on, on not being early adopters, of not having the terrible responsibility of setting trends for the rest of the country. The economy has always trailed the rest of the country. The late Cotton Phelps made a fortune realizing that recessions are late arriving here and so are recoveries. Adair Countian Mike Neal, whose insurance interests are nationwide, said the rest of the country is picking up steam economically, but good times haven't hit here, though they will, just later. A friend of his in Greensburg sums it up for the whole region. "Over here in Greensburg," he told Neal. "We're always behind. We haven't even had the millenium yet - and I hear it's going to be rough." This story was posted on 2013-07-01 12:33:31
