Munfordville, KY, man arrested for wanton endangerment

He was walking, carrying a baby girl while intoxicated, according to Adair County Sheriff's Office. Incident occurs in Portland area of Adair County.

The Adair Sheriff''s Office responded to a call on Bill Handy Road in the Portland area of Adair County early Sunday morning, June 30, 2013.

While en route dispatchers advised Deputy Cravens a man had left the residence with an infant while being intoxicated and was walking with the baby.



Deputy Cravens arrived on Bill Handy Road and observed Timothy Jewell, 22, of Munfordville walking in the middle of the road while carrying with the infant. Jewell, who was intoxicated at the time, handed the infant to Deputy Cravens without incident and was taken into custody.

Adair EMS responded to the scene and transported the infant to Westlake to be checked out and social services were also notified. The infant was later released to the care of relatives.

Jewell has been charged with alcohol intoxication and wanton endangerment, second.
