Click on headline for story plus photo(s) By Duane Bonifer COLUMBIA, KY - The author Mark Twain will be brought to life at 7pmCT/8pmET, the next four Sundays at Lindsey Wilson College. The performance is one of three headliners in TheatreFest! an exciting new regional summer drama program that is under the direction of stage veteran Brock. And when it comes to the legendary author, Lindsey Wilson College Assistant Professor of Theater Robert Brock has no regard for time - or mortality. Twain will "live" in Brock's one-person show, in V. P. Henry Auditorium, 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY. The event is part of the 2013 TheatreFest Series. "I'll be doing Twain as an old man, looking back on his famous and varied life," Brock said. Owing money to friends because of several bad investments, Twain embarked on a series of lucrative lecture tours in his later years. Brock said his characterization of Twain will draw in part on those lectures, along with Twain's writings about himself in journals and published articles. When Twain died in 1910, President William Howard Taft said of the writer: "Mark Twain gave pleasure -- real intellectual enjoyment -- to millions, and his works will continue to give such pleasure to millions yet to come. ... His humor was American, but he was nearly as much appreciated by Englishmen and people of other countries as by his own countrymen. He has made an enduring part of American literature."
