COLUMBIA, KY- Lindsey Wilson athletics finished second in the 2012-13 NAIA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings, announced by National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics officials on Friday, June 14, 2013.

The runner-up finish is Lindsey Wilson's best in the 18-year history of the Learfield Cup eclipsing its third place finish in 2005-06. The Blue Raiders' 797 points is the highest points total besting last season's 700 points.



Lindsey Wilson scored points during the 2012-13 academic year in 14 sports
Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to six women and six men's national championships. Two of Lindsey Wilson's finishes were omitted from the final total after reaching the maximum number of championships allowed.

Lindsey Wilson jumped one spot from third after the winter season thanks to a successful spring.

The Blue Raider women's tennis team scored 83 points with its third place finish at the national championship in May. The men's tennis team added 70 points thanks to a fifth place finish.

Baseball and softball each scored 53 points with their 11th place finishes after reaching the championship games of their respective national tournament opening round tournaments.

Women's golf and women's track & field each scored points for their national championship finishes but the points were erased as the Lindsey Wilson's seventh and eighth women's scores in the Learfield Cup.

Lindsey Wilson totaled 259 points during the spring season.

The Blue Raiders scored 298 points in the winter with top-10 finishes in men's basketball, men's swimming and wrestling. Men's basketball accumulated 83 points after reaching the program's first national semifinals. Wrestling picked up 75 points with a fifth place finish and men's swimming amassed 34 for their 10th place finish during their respective national championships. Women's swimming and women's indoor track & field also scored during the winter season.

During the fall, the Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team produced 100 points towards the school's total after winning the national title on December 1, 2013. The men's soccer program added 83 points after their run into the national semifinals and volleyball added 57 points after reaching pool play at the national tournament's final site and tying for 13th place.

Oklahoma Baptist captured the Learfield Cup with 964 points. Concordia (CA) finished third (781 points), Embry-Riddle (FL) ended in fourth (742.5) and Lee (TN) rounds out the top five (707).

Lindsey Wilson led nine Mid-South Conference teams to score in the Directors' Cup standings. Cumberlands (Williamsburg, KY) finished 11th with 612.5 points and Cumberland (Lebanon, TN) ended in 28th with 384.5 as the only other to MSC members to finish inside the top-50 of 204 institutions to score points.
