This sounds like a really positive experience to spend July 4 for those who are artistically gifted. Bill Guffey is a very talented artist who is doing some wonderful original paintings.

My brother, Joe Chat Chowning, recently purchased Bill's painting of The Morgan School, which was located on our farm in Cumberland County and which is now in the Veterans Park in Burkesville where it is maintained by the Cumberland County Retired Teachers Association.

I recently commissioned Bill to do an oil painting of our family home on the farm - the house was built in the 1840's by out great-great-great grandfather James Rowe.

I also bought another painting that Bill did of a pastoral scene on our farm. I recommend his work, and the gallery he has opened recently in downtown Burkesville is a nice addition. He has some really nice art pieces available. --John Chowning
