Adair Co. June Dairy Day returns Saturday, June 15, 2013 June 15, 2013 will be a huge day for downtown. Arts and Crafts, Ugly Man Contest, Oreo Stacking Contest, Pie Eating competition, Milk Drinking showdown, a Petting Zoo, Sundae Slam, and the regular Farmer's Market on the Square will be taking place as usual. Dairy Day events are Free. See separate Schedule for Saturday June 15, 2013 in Downtown Columbia, KY By Sharon Burton, Editor & Publisher, AC Community Voice & Farmer's Pride News from June Dairy Day committee: Charles Grimsley, Billy Rowe, Debbie Selby, and Mindy Yarberry June Dairy Day is returning to Adair County and events will be held on the Public Square, Columbia, KY on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Downtown will be filled with games, music, food and fun beginning at 10amCT. Games will kick off the activities at 10 a.m. and music will begin around 1pmCT Food vendors will be set up throughout the event as well as local arts and crafts vendors. The Farmers' Market on the Square will be open and include special activities to coincide with June Dairy Day activities. Members of the audience can sign up to compete in the ugly man contest beginning at 10amCT. A winner will be selected by the crowd at 12:45pmCT. A play area with bouncy houses and other games for children will be open throughout the event. There will also be a petting zoo. Games will include an Oreo stacking contest, boot toss, pie eating contest, milk drinking contest, and will culminate with The Farmer's Pride/Community Voice Sundae Slam. Two teams will compete to design the crowd's favorite sundae then free ice cream will be shared with the crowd. Music will get underway at 1pmCT, with Misty Valley, performing gospel music; the Dream Depot Singers, performing '50s, 60's and current songs; Simple Truth, performing country/rock and Christian; and the new group Voices of Soul, featuring Yolanda Bradshaw, Becky Taylor and Jenny Cundiff, singing R&B and disco. Eveyone is invited to bring a chair and plan to stay all day for the events. Events are free and food items will be for sale from vendors. All activities will take place on the Public Square Downtown, centered around the Historic Adair County Courthouse, 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY.
