Bullitt County Constable sentenced in drug trafficking cases Latest case grows out of selling heroin from Constable's Mt. Washington, KY home News from the Office of KY Attorney General Jack Conway Attorney General Jack Conway and his Office of Special Prosecutions today announced the guilty plea of a Bullitt County Constable on multiple drug charges. Forty-three-year-old Clifton Hudson pled guilty in Bullitt Circuit Court today to one count of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia, following his arrest on May 28, 2013 for selling heroin to a confidential informant at his Mt. Washington home. Hudson also pled guilty to pending prior drug-related charges, including possession of a controlled substance, first degree, stemming from selling prescription painkillers in 2010 and 2012, as well as possession of cocaine in December 2012. The Bullitt County grand jury returned an indictment on the 2010 and 2012 charges; however, Hudson agreed to bypass the grand jury and be indicted with the most recent charges by way of Information. Hudson was sentenced to 10 years, five years to serve on his prior drug charges and an additional five years probated on the most recent charges. The probationary period on the latter charges will begin when he is released from custody on his initial five-year sentence on 2010 and 2012 charges. "I appreciate the hard work and assistance we received from the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office and Kentucky State Police in helping to bring this case to a successful close," General Conway said. "Clifton Hudson has betrayed the trust of those who elected him to office, and he has jeopardized public safety and health by selling illicit drugs. I am pleased that he will be off of the streets and behind bars." General Conway's Office of Special Prosecutions handled the prosecution of this case at the request of the Bullitt County Attorney and Commonwealth's Attorney. As part of the plea agreement, Hudson resigned on June 4, 2013 from his position as a Constable. He has also agreed to pay a $1,000 fine and $3,135 to the Springfield Police Department's Drug Fund to cover investigative expenses on or between December 16, 2010 and December 14, 2012.
