5 from LW Softball are 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes Alexis Rodgers, Cara Law, Jane Egiazarova, Jordan Gilland and Josie Cox honored Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Dan White News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - Five Lindsey Wilson softball seniors have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, in an announcement made by NAIA officials on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. In all, 286 student-athletes received the recognition for their work in the classroom. The Blue Raiders listed among the group are Alexis Rodgers, Cara Law, Jane Egiazarova, Jordan Gilland and Josie Cox. In order to be nominated by a school's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 and have achieved junior academic status. For Rodgers and Gilland, this is their second straight scholar-athlete honor, while the entire group was also named Academic All Mid-South Conference. Lindsey Wilson finished the 2013 season with a program-record 50 wins before losing in the championship game of the NAIA National Championship Opening Round - Lindsey Wilson Bracket.
