W.C. Conner, Green Co., KY (1931-2013)

He was the patriarch of a large, respected Green County, KY family. He was a native of CLinton County, KY and the widower of Iva Marie Franklin Conner. Their union endured a remarkable 62 years. He leaves 49 direct living descendants. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired receiver for Belknap Corp. in Louisville, KY

Mr. Willie Carson "W.C." Conner of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Willie Conner and Laura Bell Conner, was born on January 17, 1931 in Clinton County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. He was 82 years, three months, and 28 days of age.

The funeral services for Mr. Willie C. "W.C." Conner will be conducted at 3pmCT/4pmET, Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Fry Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Dwayne Lobb and Bro. Darrell Hensley will be officiating. There will be Masonic Rite Service held at the gravesite conducted by the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM.

Mr. Willie Carson "W.C." Conner was the son of the late Willie Conner and Laura Bell Conner, was born on Saturday, January 17, 1931 in Clinton County, KY, and departed this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in Greensburg, Green County, KY. He was 82 years, 3 months, and 28 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired receiver for Belknap Corp.

He united in marriage to Iva Marie Franklin Conner on June 23, 1950 who preceded him in death on July 23, 2012.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law: Donnie and Tonya Conner of Louisville, KY; Terry and Maureen Conner of Pennsylvania, David and Brenda Conner of Louisville, KY; and Chuck and Jackie Conner of Greensburg, KY
  • Three daughters and sons-in-law: Sue and Sammy Cox, Debbie and Maxie Matney all of Greensburg, KY; and Linda and Ricky Smith of Allendale, KY

  • Two brothers and four sisters: Norman Conner of Florida, Armond Conner of Illinois, Ozena Matney of Greensburg, Ina Snow of Campbellsville, KY; Marine Murphy, and Arlena Woodall both of Indiana

  • Twenty grandchildren

  • Nineteen great-grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
  • The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Family Burial Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
