Lindsey Wilson advances in National Softball Opener, 4-1 No. 2 Lindsey Wilson survives against No. 3 Davenport 4-1 in NAIA Softball Opening Round after tense moments, wins 4-1 to enter championship game Blue Raider Softball vs. AUM at 1pmCT, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Lindsey Wilson Sports Park, 828 Russell Road, Columbia, KY By Dan White News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - There were some tense moments watching each Lindsey Wilson pitch, but in the end the Blue Raiders found four runs on four hits to beat No. 3-seed Davenport (MI) 4-1 on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in the NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round. The win pushes the Blue Raiders to the championship game where they will have to beat unbeaten No. 1-seed Auburn Montgomery (Montgomery, AL) two times in the double-elimination tournament. The first game starts at 1pmCT with an "if necessary" game to follow at 4pmCT. Davenport was the team heating up the base paths on Tuesday night, leading Lindsey Wilson in hits 8-4, but stranded 13 batters on base, compared to just two for the Blue Raiders. Starting pitcher Cheyanne Knepper (12-1) earned the win, allowing just one unearned run on seven hits with five strikeouts in 5-2/3 innings, but walked four batters.
