LOUISVILLE, KY -- For a second straight season, Lindsey Wilson athletics has won the Mid-South Conference President's Cup.

The Blue Raiders scored 111 out of a possible 120 points to capture the Cup for the 2012-13 academic year. The point total is the third highest in Mid-South history.

Cumberland (Lebanon, TN) finished second with 100.5 points followed by Campbellsville (Campbellsville, KY) and Cumberlands (Williamsburg, KY) in third with 99 points each.

"I want to congratulate our student-athletes and coaching staff on winning the President's Cup," Lindsey Wilson athletics director Willis Pooler said. "They are extremely talented and work very hard to achieve success in and out of competition.

"I also want to thank our administration. Our athletic department is blessed to have the support of an administration that believes deeply in the contribution of competitive intercollegiate athletics on the development of our student-athletes."

Georgetown (Ky.) finished fifth with 92 points, Pikeville (Pikeville, KY) ended in sixth with 75.5 points and Shawnee State (Portsmouth, OH) posted 73.5 points to end in seventh. Rio Grande (Rio Grande, OH) (59 points), St. Catharine (St. Catharine, KY) (58.5), UVa.-Wise (41.5) and Bluefield (VA.) (29.5) complete the final standings.

Points are awarded based on the final regular season standings for each conference-sanctioned sport. The regular season champion in each sport receives 10 points; second place receives nine points, etc. At the conclusion of the academic year, the top six male and top six female team finishes for each institution generates the institution's overall totals.

Lindsey Wilson scored the maximum number of points after winning the regular season titles in men's basketball, women's soccer, men's tennis and women's tennis. Lindsey Wilson shared the regular season title -- amassing 9.5 points -- in softball and wrestling.

The Blue Raiders finished second in the regular season standings in four other sports during the year.

In addition to 2011-12, Lindsey Wilson also won the President's Cup during the 2006-07 season. Cumberlands leads all MSC institutions with six outright cups and a tie for a seventh. Georgetown owns two and shared a third with Cumberlands. Campbellsville won a pair of Cups while Cumberland University owns one. - Chris Wells, Lindsey Wilson College
