CU Student Servant Leadership Awards announced Audrey Wunderlich, Frankfort, KY and Dereck Dodd of London, KY Click on headline for complete story with photo By Joan C. McKinney News from Campbellsville University CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Audrey Wunderlich of Frankfort, KY, and Dereck Dodd of London, KY, are Campbellsville University's 2013 Student Servant Leadership Award winners. Both have been described as "truly, truly servant leaders and great role models." In Wunderlich's opinion, a great leader leads by thinking of themselves as less important than the people around them, thus taking on humility. Her definition of a servant leader is one who is able to lead a group of people by committing to count the group more valuable than themselves and by showing them love. Serving is showing love and the greatest way to show love is by sharing the gospel she said. After graduation Wunderlich wants to pour back into CU in whatever area God leads her. It was here where she learned the importance of being a servant leader. It is her heart's desire to share her experience with others and to teach them the process of becoming a servant leader. Wunderlich will be donating a portion of her Servant Leadership Award money to Engage by Christ in Youth. She is majoring in public relations. Her accolades include: PRSSA President; Mid-South Conference Champion of Character; WLCU PR Director; Mid-South Conference Academic All-American; Member of International Justice Mission; Crossings Ministries; Cheerleading Bible Study leader and a recipient of Campbellsville University Champion of Character award. Wunderlich is the daughter of Tom and Angie Wunderlich and attends The Point CommunityChurch in Frankfort and Living Grace Church in Campbellsville. She is a 2010 graduate of Franklin County High School. Dodd defines a servant leader as a person who gives of himself as Christ gave to the church; to be selfless and compassionate. The servant activities that he has been apart of have helped to impact others but they have also made an impact on his relationship with Christ. He sees his faith grow when he serves. After graduation, Dodd has every intention of continuing to seek ways to serve others. He would like to helpothers learn how and why they can serve or Lord Jesus Christ. Dodd will be donating a portion of his Servant Leadership Award money to Grace Emmaus of Corbin, KY. Dodd is a business administration major. His accolades include: Saint Andrew's United Methodist Church Youth Director; Resident Assistant; LINC Team Member; A.S.A.P. Ministries Director; Grace Emmaus of Kentucky member; and a recipient of the Baptist Leadership Award. He is a 2010 graduate of South Laurel High School.
