Officer Drew Conn completes training on child safety seats

By Ofc. Josh Brockman, Public Information Officer
Columbia Police Department, 116 Campbellsville Street - Chief Jason Cross

Officer Drew Conn of Columbia Police Department recently completed a 32 hour training course in Somerset, KY, conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration partnered with Safe Kids Worldwide on the correct procedures of installing a child safety seat.

The course included several skills test and a written exam in which the officer must score above 80% to pass the course.

Upon completion CPD Ofc. Drew Conn received Technician status as part of the National Standardized Child Safety Training Program. Chief Jason Cross would like to extend a invitation to all parents, caregivers, and expecting parents to stop by Columbia Police Department at 116 Campbellsville street or call 270-384-4119 if they would like to have their existing or new car seats inspected for proper installation. Officers routinely find car seats that inadequate or installed incorrectly therefore making them less effective in the case of collision. Ofc. Joshua Brockman
