(NEW YORK) Discovery Channel took the #1 cable network spot among Men 25-54 (excluding sports) on Tuesday, April 23 with and the series premiere of Backyard Oil at 8pmCT/9pmET was the #1 series in cable on Tuesday among Men 25- 54/18-49 delivering 2.12 HH, 2.00 Persons 25-54, 2.42 Men 25-54, 1.89 Men 18-49 and 3.05 Million Total Viewers P2+. The series out-delivered multiple broadcast programs among Men 25-54, including ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," CBS' "Golden Boy", Fox's "New Girl" and "Mindy Project" and NBC's "Ready For Love".

The 9pmCT/10pmET season premiere of Backyard Oil earned a 1.35 HH/1.18 Persons 25- 54 rating and delivered 1.84 Million Total Viewers P2+. This premiere is the network's highest rated series premiere in all key demos, including Persons and Men 25-54 in 2013. Backyard Oil is a high stakes comical rollercoaster ride through the world of wildcat oil drilling, and returns with an all-new episode on April 30, 2013, at 9amCT/10amET. also returns with a new episode on April 30 at 8pmCT/9pmET.
