Rolllin Knifley: Response for Joyce (and allies Ralph Roy, Shamarie, et al?)

Offers suggestion for Mayor Mark and CJE Ann on how they might culture up the place a bit

By Rollin Knifley
Personal Commentary

No matter how "proper" or "educated" or whatever other qualities we wish the outside world to perceive this area as being or having, nor how many of those qualities the people of Kentucky have, the entire rest of the world is going to consider Kentucky as "backward" no matter what we do. (Who said so? Not me.)

I see your point. Too bad I don't have a sister that I could marry. Reckon a first cousin would do? Well, I have wasted too much time on this here magic box this morning. I gotta go put this high horse back in the barn, brush my tooth, check on the still, then try and get a ride to town and hang out on the Square.

I can't help it, I am from KY. That about right? Is that the message?

Maybe while Mayor Mark and Judge Ann are working on the Opera House project, they can contact the Highway Dept and get some signs erected at the City Limits and on the Parkway that says "Welcome to Columbia. Home of "Mad Dog" Boooooow! (you may want to check the spelling on Boooooow.) That ought to culture the place up a bit.

I guess it's true that perception is stronger than reality. Let's do all we can to ensure that this perception never changes. I think we are on to something here!

Enjoy your moment, you deserve it. - Rollin Knifley
