One flown to UL following injury collision near Cecilia, KY

ELIZABETHTOWN - On Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 4:40pmET, Kentucky State Police Post 4 investigated an injury collision at the intersection of Hardinsburg Road and North Long Grove Road, 4 miles west of Cecilia, KY.



A 2006 Nissan passenger vehicle, operated by Quinn F. Pearl, 75, of Elizabethtown, KY, was traveling north on North Long Grove Road when the vehicle entered the path of a 2007 Ford F-150 traveling east on Hardinsburg Road, operated by Christopher D. Wadrip, 43, of Hudson, KY.

The Nissan failed to yield the right of way to the F-150. The F-150 struck the Nissan in the driver's side and the Nissan then struck a unoccupied parked 1988 Chevrolet pickup. The Nissan came to final rest facing in a northward direction in the yard of 4282 Hardinsburg Road.

Mr. Pearl was flown from the scene to University of Louisville Hospital with life threatening injuries.

The Nissan's passenger, Sherry S. Pearl, 69, of Elizabethtown, KY was treated at the scene by Hardin County EMS, transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital and later flown to University of Louisville Hospital with life threatening injuries. Mr. Wadrip was transported by Hardin County EMS to the Hardin Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing by Trooper Scotty R. Sharp. Trooper Sharp was assisted at the scene by Det. Jason Propes, Trooper Dennis Oldham, Hardin County EMS, West 86 Volunteer Fire Department, Elizabethtown Fire Department, and Air Methods.
