Det. Jason Propes leading investigation of Breck Co. murder

Juvenile, 17 years old, taken into custody, charged with murder manslaughter 1st Update: later story with name of victim released of stepfather after domestic violence dispute in Harned, Breckinridge County, KY

HARNED, KY - On Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at approximately 5:33pmET Post 4 received a call stating that someone had been shot at a residence at 907 Hwy 259 South in Harned in Breckinridge County, KY.



The preliminary investigation revealed that a 17-year-old juvenile shot his step father during a domestic violence dispute.

The step father was pronounced dead at the scene by the Breckinridge County Coroner.

The juvenile is in police custody and has been charged with murder (as updated above the charge is Manslaughter 1st). An autopsy on the victim will be conducted at a later time.

Detective Jason Propes is leading the ongoing investigation. He was assisted at the scene by other Post 4 units, the Breckinridge County EMS, and the Breckinridge County Sheriff's Department.
