Organizational meeting for ACHS Project graduation

2013 is 24th Year that the Adair County community has sponsored this safe and memorable celebration for graduating seniors, juniors and their guests

By Brenda Mann

An Adair County High Project Graduation organizational planning meeting will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013, at 5:30pmCT, in the Adair County High Library. 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY.

The 2013 ACHS Project Graduation marks the twenty-fourth year that the Adair community has sponsored this memorable drug and alcohol free celebration for seniors, juniors and their guest. This fun night is only made possible through the generosity and collaborative efforts of community members, businesses, civic organizations, parents, volunteers, and school staff.

Besides hanging out with friends and classmates, students play games, win prizes, showcase their talents, listen to music and enjoy lots of good food. This celebration signifies the end of an era for our high school graduates' and is the last time that most will be together before embarking on their post high school lives.

Statistics show that instances of high risk behavior increases among teenagers on nights like graduation. Project Graduation provides a safe environment for students to celebrate, and sends a clear message to our students that we are proud of their accomplishments and that we care about their safety

. If you are interested in assisting with or making a donation to continue this important tradition for our graduates, please attend this meeting or contact Ellen Zornes at (270) 384-3400 or e-mail ellen.zornes@adair.kyschools.us or Brenda Mann at 384-2476 or e-mail brenda.mann@adair.kyschools.us.

Adair Project Graduation will follow graduation scheduled on Friday, May 24. As always, we appreciate all our community does to support our students! - BRENDA MANN
